Description

Full-On Theatre comes to Rebus Theatre this October!

Presented by Full-On Theatre

Join performer and theatre-maker Dave Houston for three days of theatre, comedy, music and conversation at Rebus Theatre.

At the heart of the program is STILL HERE, Dave’s 60-minute performance exploring mental health through laughter, music and storytelling. Blending slapstick, stand-up, character comedy and live songs, STILL HERE approaches experiences of depression with humour, honesty and empathy.

Along the way, audiences meet a colourful collection of characters — from showbiz master Uncle David to hip-hop sensation Rave Dave — accompanied by original music spanning punk, hip-hop and folk-rock.

Through clowning, character comedy, stand-up, storytelling and live music, Dave takes audiences through moments that can be uproariously funny one minute and deeply heartfelt the next. The work explores experiences of depression while creating space for connection, empathy and conversation.

  • Part slapstick, part stand up, part brutal honesty about living with depression, with cracking original songs. A moving and relatable piece of theatre about mental health.

  • You got me you bugger

Oh my god. You got me you bugger. I've been on Sertraline (an antidepressant) for 6 years. I haven't cried in that time but you got me tonight. What you did up on that stage was amazing.
