Event description
Join us for this musical and literary experience! Musician, screenwriter, and author of 15 crime novels, Dave Warner will share the inspiration and autobiographical incidents behind many of his books, with musical accompaniment along the way.
During the hour, attendees will be entertained with a number of songs that are relevant to the novels, performed by Dave alongside guitarist and fellow musician, Tony Durant. An event not to be missed!

MEET DAVE
Dave Warner is an author, musician and screenwriter. He has written nine novels and six non-fiction books. His first novel, City of Light, won the Western Australian Premier’s Book Award for Fiction, and Before it Breaks won the Ned Kelly Award for best Australian crime fiction. His most recent crime novels are When it Rains and Summer of Blood. Dave Warner first came to national prominence with his gold album Mug’s Game, and his band Dave Warner’s from the Suburbs. In 2017 he released his tenth album, When. He has been named a Western Australian State Living Treasure and has been inducted into the WAMi Rock’n’Roll of Renown.
MEET TONY
Tony Durant is a musician sometimes credited as the godfather of British psychedelic folk. He has collaborated with Dave for 50 years on various projects and albums.
