David Cullen is a GRAMMY Award-Winner for Best Pop Instrumental Recording. He has performed with Will Ackerman, Samite, Tracy Silverman, Darol Anger, The DePue Brothers Band and Michael Manring. David also has played with The Jaco Big Band, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia , The Philly Pops and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

David Cullen has performed in a dazzling wide range of styles including Classical, Jazz, and World Music. David has performed throughout North America for Classical Guitar Societies, Jazz Festivals, and Performing Arts Series. He has released 10 CDs for the acoustic guitar label Solid Air Records. David Cullen’s recordings have been featured on NPR stations across America.

David Cullen earned his Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from the Hartt School of Music. He performed in Masterclasses for Sharon Isbin and Manuel Barrueco.

David Cullen had a long teaching career, teaching Jazz Guitar, Classical Guitar and Guitar Skills for Music Therapy and Music Education Students at West Chester University (1990-1996, 2004 -2025), Elizabethtown College (1981–1983 , 1990–2025) , Millersville University (2014-2024), Albright College ( 1997–2014), Kutztown University (2004–2014), Bucknell University (1987-1990), and Susquehanna University (1988–1990).

Recording work also includes the Windham Hill Guitar Sampler and other Windham Hill Compilation CDs. David has released 2 books through Warner Brothers Publications: Jazz, Classical, and Beyond, as well as Grateful Guitar. His performance DVD Jazz, Classical and Beyond features multi-camera angles and lessons.

Godfrey Daniels, a nonprofit live music venue known as a listening room located in the heart of Southside Bethlehem, PA, is renowned as one of the finest and the second-longest continuously operating listening rooms in the United States. It’s a cherished space where artists and audiences can come together to celebrate live, diverse music in a truly immersive and unforgettable setting that embodies the essence of music appreciation.

SO, WHAT IS A ‘MUSIC LISTENING ROOM’?

A music listening room is a dedicated space or venue designed to create an intimate and focused atmosphere for live music performances. It provides a setting where the primary focus is on the music and the experience of actively listening to it. Unlike traditional concert venues or bars, music listening rooms prioritize respectful attention from the audience, creating an environment where the music takes center stage and performers can connect with their listeners on a deeper level. The seating arrangement, acoustics, and overall ambiance of a music-listening room are carefully designed to enhance the listening experience, allowing for a more intimate and immersive encounter between the audience and the artists.
