David & Shimna are an acoustic guitar and violin duo whose music has been described as “absolutely beautiful… perfectly played… fragile yet powerful.” Their sound blends intricate guitar work, lyrical fiddle, and close vocal harmonies into a powerful yet vulnerable experience for all present.

David is based in Auckland, while Shimna has been living in Belfast, Northern Ireland since March 2025. This tour marks a special reunion, a chance to bring their music back home to New Zealand and share it in the way it’s meant to be heard: up close and personal in a town near you.

This summer, they’ll be touring small halls and community spaces across Aotearoa, bringing their songs to places most musicians don’t usually go. Each evening is an invitation: a night of stories, connection, and an experience intended to stay with you long after the music has ended.

Duo favourites at the recent Auckland Folk Festival - Adam & Marika bring both charm and exceptional fiddle and guitar skills when they hit the stage together. Performing stunning original compositions plus their own take on scottish and irish trad tunes, the pair have quickly cemented themselves as one of NZ's premier folk duos. While their backgrounds have strong trad roots, you may just be treated to a touch of gypsy jazz and a song or three as well!

Marika has performed with Ms Lauryn Hill, Jordan Luck, and many other NZ artists, and is highly regarded and in hot demand around Auckland and NZ. Adam has performed with best-selling Irish musician Sharon Shannon and toured with Manus McGuire, and is known for his work in the musical Once.
