DAWA March Summit 2026

You are warmly invited to attend the first Disability Assembly WA (DAWA) Summit for 2026, an invite-only event bringing together families, service providers, legal representatives and other key stakeholders to discuss and identify solutions to one of the most critical issues facing people with intellectual disability and their families.

“Care Succession and Planning for Families with Intellectual Disability”

This Summit will focus on the growing and often unaddressed challenge of care succession and long-term planning, particularly for ageing carers but relevant for all families at all stages. Early, legally sound planning is essential for peace of mind, community inclusion, and better outcomes for individuals, families, and the broader system.

DAWA is collaborating with Developmental Disability WA, Future Living Trust, Microboards Australia, Valued Lives, Siblings Australia and Stepping Stones (Parent to Parent) to gather insights, identify barriers, and shape clearer pathways for families to put effective plans in place.

This March Summit forms the first part of a two-stage program, with a follow-up ‘Commitments’ Summit in August focused on outcomes and practical next steps.
