    Event description

Join us for our new workshop, “Dawn Raids and Protest in Aotearoa”, where we delve into the poignant history that has only recently be told. This workshop is a call to educators to bring to light the stories of the Dawn Raids—a time that demands remembrance and understanding.

In this workshop, our facilitators will:

Understand and Reflect: Take this opportunity to honour the memories of those affected by the Dawn Raids and engage in meaningful reflection.

Unpack History: Explore the complex layers of this uncomfortable past to foster a deeper comprehension among your students.

Make It Relevant: Learn how to connect these historical events to the present, making them relevant and resonant for ākonga today.

This workshop is not just about looking back; it’s about moving forward with a greater awareness and a commitment to inclusivity and understanding. Equip yourself with the knowledge and tools to help your students explore the multifaceted narratives of our history. Engage, Educate, Empower – because understanding our past is the key to shaping a more inclusive future.

Morning tea and free parking in the Te Papa car park will be provided - details will be sent out two days before the workshop.
