Day 14
Description
Another Day, another reason to move the tables.
It's an absolute treat to have Ciel gracing the GG stage as part of their Aus tour. Just a reminder, we’ve got a new set of Danley SH50 main speakers in, and we can’t think of a better way to give them a proper workout. We are also so grateful to have Substrate, a new Canberra collective, joining us in co-presenting the event with us!
Born in Xi’an and based in Toronto, Ciel is a DJ, producer and label boss known for her adventurous selections and wide-ranging productions. Her releases on labels including Peach Discs, !K7 and NAFF sit alongside her acclaimed 2023 debut album Homesick, which she toured live internationally in 2024.
Her DJ sets move between dreamy downtempo, wiggly tech house, psychedelic techno, UK bass and speed garage, taking dancefloors from deep and trippy to properly euphoric. She’s played everywhere from fabric and Panorama Bar to Dimensions, Draaimolen and MUTEK. An outspoken advocate for equity and social justice in electronic music, her commitment to community runs through her work.
Joining Ciel are Kujo, Mia Sorlie, Trae Bashford and Gelli. A solid crew of local selectors, with familiar faces and plenty of reason to get down early.
Rock up, support the locals, have a dance.
