Dead Man's Cell Phone
Event description
Welcome to DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONE!
An incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet café. A stranger at the next table who has had enough. And a dead man - with a lot of loose ends. Jean picks up Gordon's phone and suddenly becomes enwrapped in his life - between his mother, his widow, his brother, and his work associates. Jean finds herself entangled in a romantic relationship with Gordon's brother, Dwight, and upon learning Gordon sells organs on the black market, just as entangled in his work. A play about how we memorialize the dead - and how that remembering changes us
- it is the odyssey of a woman forced to confront her own assumptions about morality, redemption, and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed world.
THE SHOW RUNS 90-MINUTES, WITH NO INTERMISSION.
CONTENT ADVISORY: This production of Dead Man's Cell Phone contains discussions of death and organ trafficking. Although not portrayed onstage or explicitly discussed, there is a brief reference to rape when discussing sexual roleplay. There is also a mention of bombing.
