Event description

Join us for a free workshop celebrating the richness of Deaf culture and language, led by Deaf artist Luke D King. 

Luke will share an introduction to Deaf histories and give participants the opportunity to learn and use some basic Australian Sign Language (Auslan). 

The workshop will also explore some practical tips on how to work with Deaf artists and engage interpreters. 

Next Wave will be opening the Brunswick Mechanics Institute bar for participants to network and socialise after the workshop. 


Accessibility

This event will be conducted in Auslan with English interpreters available for hearing attendees.

Brunswick Mechanics Institute is a step-free venue (except for the mezzanine) with accessible bathrooms. Auslan interpreters will be available. We also have the following resources:
