Death & Paperwork #1

Aside from the grieving involved when a partner, parent or other family member dies, there are lots of practical matters to consider. 

• How do we access or close bank accounts of someone who dies?
• What happens to the sky account and power bill that's in their name?
• If we know death is near, what should we do in terms of our bank accounts?
• What if there is a sudden death - what happens to loans and money in bank accounts, term deposits etc.?
• How do we find out if a family member had life insurance, when does that get paid out and to whom?
  
• How do we get access to funeral cover money from the insurer?

Join us in our first FREE lunchtime session at the new public library in Ashburton, Te Kete Tuhinga, to look at these questions and others you have related to insurance, banking and death. You are welcome to bring your lunch with you and eat it during the event. There is also a café in the library should you wish to purchase something there.

NBS manager David Jones and Director of Kilworths - Insurance & Investment Ltd. Scott Kilworth will give short presentations and then be open to questions from attendees. 

This event is ideal if the end of life is fast approaching for you or someone in your family, or perhaps that looks to be a long way off but you'd like to know what to expect and how to get prepared, just in case. Maybe you work with people who need to know this kind of information - come along so you can better guide your clients when the time comes.  

People of all ages, cultures and backgrounds are welcome. Please register so we know how big a room we'll need and can advise you the day before the event which room we will be in.
