Aside from dealing with grief when a loved one dies, someone has to take care of practical, legal matters and funeral arrangements. It can get expensive when using lawyers, so is there another way and what exactly do you need to do when someone dies?

In this workshop we'll address questions like:

what practical/ legal things need to happen when someone dies?
what must get done by a lawyer and what can you do yourself?
what is an enduring power of attorney (EPA)?
how and when to appoint an EPA
what are my responsibilities if I am someone's EPA?

We will have staff from Community Law Canterbury and local law firm Argyle Welsh Finnigan facilitate
this FREE session at the public library in Ashburton, Te Kete Tuhinga. There will be time to ask questions after the presentation.

The Death and Paperwork series is organised by Hospice Mid Canterbury and Keep Learning Mid Canterbury with the support of the Ashburton Public Library and is a repeat of the series offered earlier in the year. We are running this again 'after hours' so those who work during the day and rurally, can hopefully make it at the later time of 5.45pm.
