ABOUT THE EVENT:
When you are heading towards 40 and people start to notice you a little bit less, what do you do with your new powers of invisibility?
Wry, humorous and provocative, this is an affectionate novel about sorting out the past, grabbing onto life and claiming your place in it.
On Thursday 13th June at The Royal Oak, Balmain, join Deborah Callaghan in conversation with Mark Dapin.
Copies of The Little Clothes will be available for purchase at the venue through Roaring Stories, with Callaghan signing copies after the discussion.

ABOUT THE VENUE
Attendees are asked to arrive at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Seating is unallocated – another reason to arrive early to secure an optimal spot. Why not make a full evening of it, too, by ordering a meal at the Royal Oak before or after the event? One of Balmain's oldest and most loved pubs, it serves a delicious range of food and beverages.
If you miss out on a ticket, you can still watch the event as it is livestreamed from the Roaring Stories Facebook page (accessible on the Home page and from the Live tab). A recording will also be available to view later as an upload on the Roaring Stories YouTube channel.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Audrey Mendes is a clever lawyer but has never made partner. Her weeks are filled with long hours in the office, visits to her ageing parents, trivia nights at the local and evenings at home with her pet rabbit, Joni.
When Audrey tries to buy wine at the pub she is ignored and walks out without paying. One thing leads to another, and soon she starts rebelling in small and creative ways against a world in which she is unseen – until a painful reminder from her childhood pushes her into a reckoning.
All the while there’s a potential romance and an eccentric new neighbour to deal with. And why does Audrey buy extravagant baby clothes when she doesn’t have a child?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Deborah Callaghan worked as an interstate train stewardess, a librarian, and freelance journalist before starting a thirty-five-year publishing career. She was a book publicist, a publisher, and a literary agent. She lives in Sydney with her husband, two daughters and three lovely dogs.

ABOUT THE HOST
Mark Dapin is an award-winning author and journalist, best known for his long-running column in Good Weekend magazine. His first novel, King of the Cross, won a Ned Kelly Award for crime writing. His second novel, Spirit House, was longlisted for the Miles Franklin Literary Award and very well reviewed both in Australia and the UK, where it was shortlisted for the Ondaatje Prize. In a previous life, Deborah Callaghan was Mark’s literary agent.
