Description
DEBRA Australia and Wounds Australia's EB Education Forum 2025.
DEBRA Australia and Wounds Australia invite multidisciplinary teams involved in Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) care, including dermatologists, nurses, and researchers, to attend our premier EB Education Forum on Thursday, 23 October 2025 in Melbourne. Families living with EB are also warmly welcomed to attend.
This exclusive educational event will be held just ahead of EB Awareness Week (25-31 October) and will feature a special lecture from guest speaker Professor Amy Paller, Chair of the Department of Dermatology at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
The forum will be chaired by Dr Zlatko Kopecki, Director of Wounds Australia and EB researcher, and will celebrate the tremendous progress in drug repurposing and gene therapy developments for the management of severe wounds in EB over the last few years. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session, network, and learn about the latest updates in EB therapy.
Don’t miss this exclusive event designed to educate, connect, and support the EB community.
About Professor Amy Paller
Professor Amy Paller has over 40 years of clinical experience in EB care. She is world-renowned for leading clinical trials that have driven innovation and advanced therapeutic approaches for the management of EB.
Professor Paller has led clinical trials focused on the repurposing of Dupilumab, an FDA-approved treatment for eczema, for the management of itch and inflammation in EB. She will share results from her latest clinical trial, showing a significant reduction in itch, and often pain as well, in some EB patients within eight weeks.

Professor Paller will also share her experience with the development of ZEVASKYN™ (prademagene zamikeracel), a ground-breaking FDA-approved gene therapy for Recessive Dystrophic EB (RDEB). Professor Paller’s clinical centre is the first treatment centre in the USA approved for ZEVASKYN™ gene therapy, and we look forward to hearing more.
