Event description

Saul Griffith is an engineer and entrepreneur

specialising in clean and renewable energy technologies.

He has founded and worked with technology companies

across 20 years in Silicon Valley USA and in Australia.

He is author of ‘The Big Switch’ (Black Inc Books)

and ‘Electrify’ (MIT Press), and most recently ‘Plug In’

(Black Inc Books). He has recently turned his attention

from his independent research and development work

to writing on policy and regulatory aspects of getting to

Zero Emissions. This work is done through Rewiring

Australia and Rewiring America — non-partisan

organisations dedicated to the electrification and

decarbonisation required to meet our climate goals.

Saul’s talk will mix the details and politics of getting

to zero emissions with our failure to communicate the

beauty of, and why we should seek a peaceful harmony

with, our home planet.
