Deciduous Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop - Smithfield
Event description
Join Andrew and Joe from the Rare Fruit Society of South Australia and Andrew's Urban Farm for a presentation and hands-on workshop on grafting fruit trees.
Andrew comes to us with a wealth of experience and will explore the following topics:
- How grafting helps fruit tree health and harvests
- How to choose the right root stock
- How to choose the right scions
- Types of grafts and which one is best for which situation
- How to protect grafts from disease.
We'll then practise various grafts under the watchful eye of Andrew and Joe.
This is a very special opportunity to get hands-on learning this process from some of the best in the business, an experience you won't get often outside of the horticulture classroom.
Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase scions on the day, as well as grafted fruit trees, all at discounted prices.
This workshop forms part of Garden Goodness Smithfield's annual Fruit Tree Sale, running from Friday 2nd August to Saturday 10th August 2024. Special deals will be available on the day, along with specialist advice from your friendly local garden centre.
