Dedham Greenspace Story Slam: October

The Dedham Greenspace Coalition invites residents to its next community Story Slam on Thursday, Oct 29th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at TLC Studios & Media Lab, 390 Washington Street in Dedham Square - next to Oscar’s Pub and Kitchen.

Join the Dedham Greenspace Coalition and share your true story - funny, moving, surprising, or inspiring - about your own “Brush with Greatness.”

Award-winning Story Slam emcee Mark Scherfling offers this creative spark for participants, “Have you ever crossed paths with someone famous—or encountered an ordinary person doing something extraordinary? Perhaps you witnessed an unforgettable act of courage or kindness, stood in the presence of a natural wonder, brushed up against a moment in history, or met someone who changed the way you see the world.”

Audience members are welcome to attend simply to enjoy the evening, cheer on the storytellers, and connect with neighbors. Those who wish to share a story of their own may sign up to participate. Prizes will once again be awarded to the top three storytellers, selected by a panel of professional creatives and storytellers.

The Dedham Greenspace Coalition Story Slam series is part of the organization’s broader effort to build a vibrant, connected community while advocating for Dedham’s green spaces, trails, and natural resources. By blending storytelling, the arts, and civic engagement, the Coalition hopes to foster deeper connections among residents and strengthen appreciation for the places that make Dedham special.
