Dedham Greenspace Story Slam: "Sound of Music"

The Dedham Greenspace Coalition now invites residents to its next Story Slam on Thursday, July 10, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at TLC Studios & Media Lab, 390 Washington Street in Dedham Square.

The theme for July is "The Sound of Music." As award-winning Story Slam emcee Mark Scherfling explains, "Prepare a story about sounds combined: a song, a symphony, a high note, or the moment when the beat dropped. From band practice to the tune that saved the day, the mood music that did the trick, or your personal anthem. From salsa to your swan song, from the orchestra pit to the mosh pit. Give us the mixtape of YOU."

Audience members are welcome to attend simply to enjoy the evening or sign up to share a story of their own. Prizes will once again be awarded to the top three storytellers, as selected by a panel of professional creatives and storytellers.

The Story Slam series supports the Dedham Greenspace Coalition's broader mission of building a vibrant and connected community that advocates for and protects Dedham's green spaces, trails, and natural resources. By blending storytelling, the arts, and community engagement, the organization seeks to foster deeper connections among residents and strengthen appreciation for the places that make Dedham special.
