Deep Friars: Befriending Birds, Singing with Snakes launch
Event description
Come and celebrate the release of our EP ‘Befriending Birds, Singing with Snakes’ with us! Five tracks brimming with stories from gold to grim, this ambitious little record took a lot of love, grief and fresh air to make. We’ll be playing every song off the EP, adding a couple of fun bonus additions, inviting some distinguished guests, telling a couple of stories behind the songs and generally making a glorious racket.Â
Joining the fun is Grass Stains, Melbourne based pop/rock/punk darlings fronted by the inexhaustible former Hobart local Zena Mohamad (Squid Fishing). Expect dialled sugary emo goodness packed with hooks and charm, as evidenced in the new single ‘Divorced From Reality’. This is their first outing into Hobart, let’s make it a memorable one!
Also down for a good time is Launceston alt/post/punk goodboiis Drenched, delivering their first Hobart show since dropping their terrific album ‘Infinite Resource’. Rounding out the bill is local Midwest-tapfest wizards Who Threw That, dropping all sorts of tasty tones into a sparkly stew.Â
