Headliner - Watty Thompson and his Total Fire Band
About Watty Thompson“A reckoning of contemporary Australian country folk and baroque bush rock ’n’ roll” - Post to Wire
Enigmatic powerhouse, Barmah-born Watty Thompson is emerging as a striking and entirely unique performer-songwriter in Australia’s storytelling tradition.A little bit country, a little bit folk, and 100% heart, Watty’s high-energy sets impress upon those in the room an increasingly rare skill: the ability to lay bare and embrace the highs and lows of everything that makes us human.
Harry Hook is real
Harry hook is real is an ARIA-nominated performer and songwriter who has toured around Australia, Europe and the USA playing in all kinds of venues from state theatres, small halls, backyards to barrooms. He currently works on Gunaikurnai land in Sale (Wayput / Flooding Creek). His music has campfire country, folk and blues influences with a strong focus on the lyric, all driven by his unique, self-taught finger picking style.
Fenn Wilson
Fenn Wilson’s lyrics turn poetry into pain, laced with light; compassion and wisdom beyond his years imbue every line.
He is mesmerising on stage, either solo or surrounded by his skilled and sensitive sidemen, creating thunderstorm dynamics reminiscent of Jeff Buckley. Fenn’s songcraft is astounding; echoes of a young John Martyn or Glenn Hansard filter through in his faultless guitar rhythms and cunning doubling of vocal melodies. Memorable hooks abound, without a trace of gimmick or cliché. And then there’s his voice.
Olivia Lay
local favourite Olivia Lay is singer songwriter from Lakes Entrance inspired by John Butler, Newton Faulkner and John Mayer, playing a primarily acoustic set comprised of original, instrumental pieces.
Megan Kennedy
Megan Kennedy is a Melbourne-based singer songwriter. Her music takes inspiration across a set of genres as far reaching as folk, alt-rock and cheesy pop, resulting in a repertoire of contemplative 'story-telling' songs laced with breezy, melodic guitar hooks. When it comes to composing lyrics she likes to cast a wide net, drifting between the everyday, the existential and things stuck in the middle.
