Practices will be focused on the lungs, arms, and breath to support you during the change of season from late Summer to early Autumn.

Date:   Sunday, 7th of April, 2024
Time:
  2:00pm - 4:30pm (arrive from 1:40pm to get settled)
Where:
Springwood Studio, 198 Mount Barker Road, Leawood Gardens.

About the Practices:

Yin Yoga is a meditative form of Yoga based on Taoist principles, targeting deep connective tissues through passive, longer-held postures. Postures are typically held for three to five minutes or longer. On an energetic level, each posture is associated with a different meridian, restoring harmony and increasing chi. Yin Yoga offers a profound and introspective practice, promoting flexibility, relaxation, and energetic balance.

Yoga Nidra ("yogic sleep") is the state of deep, dreamless sleep, in which the person is fully aware and conscious. In this state of relaxation, participants are guided through a systematic journey of deep introspection, allowing for the release of accumulated stress and tension. Through the practice of Yoga Nidra, we invite the mind to enter a state of profound stillness, where inner wisdom and insight may arise effortlessly.

Disclaimer:
While these practices offer immense benefits for many individuals, it's important to recognize that the journey inward may not be suitable for everyone, particularly those who have experienced trauma. The stillness and silence inherent in Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra can sometimes evoke challenging emotions or memories. Therefore, individuals with trauma or sensitive emotional histories are encouraged to approach these practices with caution and consider their capacity before participating.
