Deepdish is back for another term, 9 weeks of working on a small repertoire of songs together on a Wednesday night!

Number will be capped at around 25 people (plus or minus a couple to ensure balance between parts), so jump in now to secure your ticket!

Term details:

This term of Deepdish will run for 9 weeks, Wednesday evenings from 7pm-9pm. Dates are Wednesday 7th October - Wednesday 2nd December.

The term will culminate in a relaxed performance/mid-year joint concert with Slapdash Choir on Sunday arvo 6th December, which you are expected to attend so we can showcase what we've worked on throughout the term.

What's it all about?

This is a choir for anyone looking for something a bit more hearty and a bit more involved than Slapdash Choir (Deepdish's larger, rowdier and more entry-level older sister-choir). While you don't need to be terribly experience or virtuosic, the expectation is that you are prepared to attend at least 75% of the term, and that you should be prepared for a faster learning pace, with access to practice tracks and sheet music for familiarising/?practising at home.

Muscial content/song chocie is varied and eclectic, but we're interested in building and steeping in rich vocal harmony, usually singing in 4 parts.

If you've got questions, suggestions, or reservations please get in touch!

Long version (me just going off on more pun tangents):

From the oven that brought you Slapdash Choir comes something new, gooey, and extra cheesy… Deepdish Choir.

Slapdash has always been about the joy of casual, drop-in singing — a big, welcoming buffet where anyone can grab a plate and join in. But some voices started asking: “Can’t we go a bit deeper?” More harmony, more challenge, more commitment, maybe even a performance?

Enter Deepdish.

This new choir is for those who want to roll up their sleeves and really dig into the sauce: tasty, layered harmonies; songs that polish up week by week; and a sense of commitment to growing something together. Think of it as Slapdash’s sibling — still friendly, still open to anyone who wants to give it a go — but maybe a bit more challenge and a bit more buy-in for a final product that's richer and saucier!

You don’t need to be a pro, just keen to lean in a little further, practice when you can, and savour the process of blending your voice with others. I already have a few pieces arranged, with some sheet music and practice tracks available to help you to feel confident with the repertoire.

If you’ve ever thought “Slapdash is delicious, but I could handle a thicker slice” — Deepdish might be just what you’re hungry for.
