Description

Did you know Australia is home to more than 1,700 species of native bees?

While European honey bees often get all the attention, they're just one small part of a remarkable world of pollinators. From blue-banded bees and leafcutter bees to flies, birds and even flying foxes, pollinators play a vital role in our ecosystems and food production.

For the inaugural edition of Deep Dive Ballarat, we're diving into the fascinating world of native pollinators.

Joining us will be Clancy Lester, better known to many as "The Bee Man", whose passion for Australia's biodiversity has inspired thousands of people online and beyond. He’ll be joined by field naturalist, writer and science communicator Tanya Loos, whose lifelong curiosity for wildlife and deep knowledge of the natural world will help us explore the small, surprising and often overlooked creatures that keep our ecosystems thriving.

Expect engaging talks, fascinating discoveries, audience questions and plenty of opportunities to learn something unexpected.

Whether you're a keen gardener, nature lover, science enthusiast, or simply curious about the world around you, this Deep Dive is for you.
