Deepening into Stillness and Insight
This year's Deepening Into Stillness retreat will explore a core teaching the Buddha gave regarding the 'burden' we carry, in his words:
'Taking up the burden is suffering in the world,
Laying the burden down is blissful'
Have you ever felt that no matter what you do, there remains a subtle dissatisfaction or unease in your life. That somehow deep stillness and ease remain elusive.
We will introduce personal inquiry sessions, a way to facilitate insights, to the traditional Insight Meditation retreat schedule to support us to see how we can free ourselves from our burden. The key is to get insight and understanding into the mindset and behaviours that continually repeat the patterns of dissatisfaction.
We can begin to see the patterns that pull us out of the full enjoyment of life and the present moment.
Our body, heart and mind naturally settle into rest and stillness.

The retreat program will consist of daily guided meditation instructions, sitting meditations, walking meditations, Dharma talks and inquiry exercises. We will also be offering Body Dharma sessions, providing opportunities to embody the theme of the retreat through movement, supporting dancing with life and rediscovering your vitality and the pleasure of living.
