Hi, my name is Caitlin. I’ve spent 14 years investigating and teaching what it is to move with freedom - by myself and with others. The stories and assumptions we travel with, how we interact, the way we move through space, what freedom of movement actually means. How to connect with my body, my needs, and respect the needs and bodies of others in a shared and collaborative space. How to include myself and others in community, with all of our differences. How to be honest, and develop the courage to show up no matter how I’m feeling. How to use dance as a learning ground for being a whole human with other humans in a rapidly changing and often challenging world. How to resource and nourish myself through the practice, and through surrendering to the vulnerability and the strength of being a part of something much bigger than me.
We will start each session together with a chance to drop into the body by dancing a wave based movement cycle, and from there, explore the theme through a series of movement and connection enquiries, developed from the conscious dance practices of Dancing Freedom and Open Floor.
Let’s dance.
Things to note-
