Event description

Join us for a unique and powerful conversation with Lauren Regan — founder, director, and senior staff attorney of the US Civil Liberties Defense Center.

In this special event, Lauren will take to the stage with Bob Brown and Jenny Weber.  Lauren will share her insights from nearly three decades of legal work defending environmental, climate, and social justice movements. Together, they’ll explore what these frontline experiences mean for activists and what lessons we can draw in the fight for wild places and wildlife.

About Lauren Regan

Regan has been at the legal forefront of environmental, climate, and animal rights activism, providing robust defence and strategic support for those facing state repression, SLAPP suits, and other legal threats. Cutting her teeth during landmark direct actions like the Warner Creek blockade and the Green Scare—the largest U.S. government crackdown on environmental and animal liberation activists—Regan has built an unmatched legacy of defending frontline defenders. Her work spans organising Know Your Rights trainings, building legal infrastructure for campaigns, coordinating legal observers, and successfully litigating both criminal defence and civil rights abuse cases.
