Defining Freedom and Abolition

H.O.E.S. (Heal, Organize, Educate, Shift) for reading will be hosting our first community engagement following our reading of Angela Davis’ ‘Freedom is a Constant Struggle’ and Assata Shakur’s ‘Assata: an Autobiography’ including themes of abolition, Palestinian liberation, and the prison-industrial complex. We aim to host a space centered in radical discussion and abolitionist imagination through a short panel followed by a free-write and breakout groups. This event will strive to offer a space for abolitionist communion while encouraging discussions for praxis.
