    DELEGATE SCHOOL OF ARTS FESTIVAL 2024: OUR PLACE

    The Delegate School of Arts Festival is a biennial long weekend of events and workshops featuring musicians, story-tellers, history buffs, artists and photographers. All welcome! The Delegate School of Arts Festival is grateful for the generous support of NSW Arts Funding and South East Arts.

    ABOUT DELEGATE
    Delegate is a tiny rural village with a school of arts that for 126 years has been the creative and historic hub of our place. The DSA festival features events and workshops. Tickets are now on sale. All welcome!

    PROGRAM OF EVENTS

    FRIDAY 4 OCTOBER
    OPENING NIGHT: 6.00pm – 8.00pm
    Opening Night features launch of new exhibition by a visiting Indigenous Artist (from Bateman's Bay).
    VENUE: Bundian Way and Borderline Galleries, Delegate

    SATURDAY 5 OCTOBER

    POETRY RECITAL: 10.00 am – 11.30 am
    VENUE: Delegate Settlers Hut
    Free event, includes tea and bush scones 

    JOURNALING WORKSHOP: 10.00 am – 3 pm
    VENUE: Meet at the Old Post Office, 40 Bombala St, Delegate
    Easel sets and paint palettes available at Early Settlers Hut
    Free event

    EXHIBITION BY VISITING INDIGENOUS ARTIST10.00am – 2.00pm
    New exhibition by a visiting Indigenous Artist (from Bateman's Bay).

    EXHIBITION OF LOCAL ARTS: 10.00 am – 4.00 pm
    Local artists display their work and host a discussion table.

    FESTIVAL DINNER AND SPEAKER EVENT: 6 pm for 6:30 pm
    “Stories in Place” Guest speaker: Sarah Macdonald, presenter for the Mornings program on ABC Radio Sydney
    VENUE: Delegate Country Club
    Catering by the Bombala Catering Company
    Tickets: $50 per head (buffet dinner). Drinks may be purchased at the bar.

    SUNDAY 6 OCTOBER

    EXHIBITION OF LOCAL ARTS: 11.00 am – 2.00pm
    Local artists will display their work and host a discussion table.
    VENUE: Delegate Community Church, cnr Bombala and Topping Streets, Delegate

    DSA FESTIVAL KIDS' PARTY: 11.00 am – 12.30 am
    Dress up theme to be announced. Prizes for best costumes and games activities.

    Free event (for kids under 12 years)

    EXHIBITION: 11.00 am – 2.30 am
    VENUE: Delegate Bundian Way and Borderline Gallery, 66 Bombala Street, Delegate
    11.30 am – 12.30 am:  Journal entries and painting on view, and selected readings

    GOLDNER STRING QUARTET: 3.00 – 5.00 pm
    Celebrating its 30th and final concert season, the Goldner String Quartet has long-standing recognition as not only Australia’s pre-eminent string quartet, but as an ensemble of international significance, favourably compared with the best in the world.
    VENUE: Delegate School of Arts, 36 Bombala Street, Delegate
    Tickets: $30 per head, includes canapés. Drinks may be purchased at the bar. Tickets for kids under 18 are free.

    DINNER AND NRL GRAND FINAL: 6:00 pm – late

    WORKSHOP - SMART PHOTOGRAPHY MAGIC: 2.00 – 4.00pm
