DELINQUENT

Saturday 18 May, 2024, 10pm to 3am
(basement doors open 9.30pm)
Ft. Pseudo-ku, Estée Louder & Jack Hardmën
The Basement, 284 Smith St Collingwood
(enter through Wheat, Wine & Whisky)

DELINQUENT (first presented for Folsom Down Under 2023 and featured Berghain legend Roi Perez) is a late night dance music euphoria with a kink look and feel, now resident in the basement of 284 Smith Street Collingwood

Think dark spaces, uniform worship, club kids, exhibitionism, and dirty, filthy techno music. A dance rave for everyone - but with suspiciously queer undertones

sex-positive / clothing optional / techno heavy / gender inclusive

Cloak room available. Kink and fetish wear are not mandatory

Ft. Estée Louder

Est. 2017, Estée Louder produces Control, a visionary club night dedicated to uplifting queer and femme artists, merging global talents in a techno haven. Defying patriarchal bounds, Control sparks a rhythmic uprising for unbridled energy and harmonious connection

Genre non-conforming, falling somewhere within techno, electro and the various waves. Techno-disco enthusiast. Fave support slots include Paula Temple, Noncompliant, Nastia Reigel, Curses, Hieroglyphic Being and Lady Blacktronika. Fave gigs include Secret Garden Festival, Pavlova Bar, NYC Pride, Berlin Pride, Sydney Mardi Gras, Melb Music Week, Renegade, Sydney Hellfire Club and Control

Estée Louder headlined at ADAM Berlin, The Official Folsom Europe Opening Party 2023 where Berlin locals and international guests alike swooned

Deftly and naturally woven, almost undefinable - but completely essential - Estée Louder presents an offering that takes confident and perfect aim at the Berlin audience. Louder strikes accurately, deeply and seamlessly. Euphoric, sensual and connected, particularly for lovers of electronic dance music. There is a restrained hand here with Louder ensuring the audience feels both satisfied and safe. Graciously and thoughtfully, Louder leaves emotional headspace for the audience to enjoy and appreciate the artist who follows...

- Ben de Beaumarchais

Ft. Jack Hardmën

Jack Hardmën is the fictional alter-ego of Josh Mckenzie, a DJ from Melbourne with over 20 years’ experience playing clubs across Australia and the world. Created as part of a writing project that got a little carried away, Jack has become synonymous with the alternative queer/fetish/sex club scene of Melbourne where he regularly plays sets ranging in genres from melodic house to hard techno. The diverse sounds that come through in a Jack Hardmën set are surely a result of his flagrant bisexuality & his deeply Gemini influenced character, attributes he is unable to disentangle from the music he plays. Another common feature in a Jack Hardmën set is a celebration of the queer roots of electronic music, whether that is through the producer, sample or style, there will always be a nod to the queer history at the heart of our scene

Jack has supported some huge names across the years, none more illustrious than one of the titans of the queer techno scene in Berlin, Marcel Dettman, who he opened for at Poof Doof in 2022. Jack has also warmed things up for Absolute Queer Icon, Berlin based Roi Perez at DELINQUENT in 2023, both of which represent a nod to his recent esteem within the scene. In September 2023, Jack gave a seething debut in Berlin for ADAM, the Official Opening Party of Folsom Europe - you’ll find this seminal set on SoundCloud

On top of these performances, Jack has also played at some of Melbourne’s best queer events, including HOMO EROTICA, Trough, Poof Doof, LUST, Dirty Diana, and many more. And in another life, when Jack was just an idea yet to be plucked from his imagination, Josh supported some huge names from the trance and Hardstyle scene such as Uberdruck, Showtek and Zany, among others, all of which he brings into each set he plays

To add to this illustrious career, Jack is also the event producer and original resident at Melbourne’s neon cabarave extravaganza, Blankë Pøp, created as an outlet to explore the more melodic and emotive sounds of techno

Ft. Pseudo-ku

A queer techno DJ with a penchant for darker, more complex styles. Draws inspiration from German techno, minimal hypnotic and Japanese footwork sounds. Experimental methods keep things fresh for the heavy sweatbox culture of Melbourne's underground

Made a stunning debut at Trough for the launch of NUTT in April 2024 and has played a residency role at all of BUFF's key events - ADAM, EDEN, HOMO EROTICA, LUST, and now DELINQUENT. Currently performing regularly on Bonequest FM, you can catch these broadcasts and a selection of key recordings including the NUTT set on SoundCloud
