Demant Dreikurs Scholarship Song Competition
Event description
We are thrilled to announce the 2024 Finalists Concert of the Demant Dreikurs Song Scholarship Competition.
🎶• The concert will take place on Saturday 5th October, at 1 pm in the Music Workshop, Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
🎶• This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to celebrate the talent of our undergraduate classical voice students, as well as the musical works of featured composers: Franz Schubert, Hugo Wolf, and Richard Strauss.
🎶• Each finalist is asked to prepare a program of art songs written by our featured composers. The winner of the competition will be awarded with a monetary prize of AU$4000.
🎶• The Demant Dreikurs Scholarship Song Competition is an event that is organised and run by the Undergraduate Voice Students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, who gather every year to make this opportunity possible. Our students enjoy working together, collaborating, and sharing their skills and passions in order to create an important musical performance opportunity for their fellow peers.
🎶• Through participation in this event, students can hone their German language and diction skills, which are vital for their future singing careers, as well as their cultural knowledge. From marketing the competition through to social media, to ticketing, to the editing of the website, and the writing of program notes, everything is curated by our wonderful UG Voice cohort.
