Join us on 9 July 2026 from 10 am to 12 pm to celebrate 125 years of Federation and enjoy a morning of family fun. Step inside Australian Parliament House and walk through two of its most important spaces that are usually reserved for parliamentarians, the Senate and the House of Representatives Chambers.

Get up close to the Australian National Flag that normally flies above Parliament House, on display in the Great Hall, then join in to carefully unfurl the flag during a special live demonstration.

You can see the unfurling at 10:30 am and 11:30 am.

Take a break and enjoy a bite to eat at Parliament House, with a range of Australian favourites and parliamentary-themed goodies on offer.

Join the Parliamentary Education Office and take part in a role play to learn how members of parliament represent Australians and make laws. Get involved in hands on activities and take a photo holding a replica Black Rod or Mace.

Add your ideas to the ‘Use Your Voice’ interactive display, where families can write short responses to fun and thoughtful question prompts, inviting children and adults to think about what matters to them, including fairness, shared values and what democracy means in their everyday lives.
