DEN Talk: The State of Design Excellence
Event description
Many Local Governments are investing in creating a culture of good design aiming at better built environment outcomes. They grapple with managing growth well and what is needed to achieve more distinctive places.
From the State Government level, the OVGA supports Local Governments in developing policies and processes. This includes two guidance documents about good Local Government procurement, and a guide to design review. At the Local Government level, the City of Melbourne, Merri-Bek City, Darebin City, the City of Casey and the City of Ballarat are some of the fast-growing and most diverse urban areas with some of Victoria’s most intact heritage. These Local Governments have embraced the pledge to design excellence.
Join us for our DEN Talk: A State of Design Excellence to hear from these Victorian Councils about their design excellence journey. This session will include a discussion with key Local Governments in the design excellence space to highlight how they are supporting good design, design thinking, and creative city strategies.
