Denim Utility Quilt

Denim Utility Quilt finished size 72” x  81”

In our climate we need a quilt for safety in our car.  This utility quilt could be also used for picnics, or the beach. It’s beginner-friendly, whether you’re a seasoned sewer or quilter OR a new to these crafts. Let’s have a fun day upscaling our old denim and creating a low-cost quilt you’ll use for years to come.   

Details: 

Bring a sewing machine if you have one. Bring at least 6 adult size jeans, any color (Share and Care has many.) Variety is fine.  If you have any very dark  pairs, prewash before coming.   

For the back of quilt, bring 4 yards of 45” wide fabric (I like flannel)  OR a flannel sheet which measures at least 72” x 81”. Prewash if new.

For the batting inside the quilt bring batting (I will have a few for sale) an old sheet or any woven fabric, same size as backing. Just make sure your batting print fabric doesn’t show through the backing.
