This nonprofit restaurant, whose name is an acronym for “So All May Eat,” aims to “create community through healthy food access,” inviting its guests to donate money, volunteer time, or produce in exchange for their meals; Spork & Compass, a new supper club founded by Mary Nguyen, Mark Antonation, and Ruth Tobias, aims in turn to raise money for the café in a particular time of need given ever-rising costs and ongoing construction on Colfax Avenue, where it’s located.
