Desert Festival 2024: Synth Saturday featuring Sleep D

Event description

The pinnacle of our Saturday night nod to all thing synthesis will be a special appearance from one of the most highly-revered underground electronic acts to come out of Australia.

For their first ever appearance in Mparntwe, Sleep D will be taking dancers on a ride through their deep collection of techno, house, dub and other subterranean sounds.

But just as renowned as their record releases are their hypnotic live sets, which have captivated audiences around the globe, including at Boiler Room, Berlin Atonal, Panorama Bar, Inner Varnika and Golden Plains Festival.

Audience’s will be treated to a special live ambient performance from Mparntwe’s own V.N. Lucarelli amongst many other amazing local electronic acts. These include Jackfruit, Slumberkitty and recent graduates from In The Mix’s DJ workshop program.

Don’t miss violinist and composer Jon Rose in The Musical Fence, performing to audiences on his custom made, amplified musical fence.

Jon has been playing fences as long string musical instruments for many years, and performing to both local and international audiences. The Musical Fence is “as rich in metaphor as it is in sonic complexity.”

Plus you can upgrade your ticket to a full Saturday Pass to include the Peachy Party Very Queer AFLM Watching Party starting at 2pm. See here for full Peachy event details.
