DESERT METEOR SHOWER NIGHT
Event description
Join us to view the Perseids meteor shower. We'll announce the location for the viewing the week of based on which location has the best visibility. During the peak, the rate of meteors reaches 60 or more per hour.
The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift–Tuttle that are usually visible from mid-July to late-August. The meteors are called the Perseids because they appear from the general direction of the constellation Perseus and in more modern times have a radiant bordering on Cassiopeia and Camelopardalis.
Be ready to meet new people and enjoy the universe's show!
Bring a blanket to lay down and enjoy the meteor shower.
EVENT DETAILS:
- 8:00 PM – Meet at Bianca
- 8:30 PM – Depart
- 10:00 PM – Arrive at the desert viewing area
- 1:30 AM – Conclude meteor shower viewing & depart back to Bianca's
