Event description

The Design and Innovation Meetup is on a roll in 2025, and it’s continuing with Jono Jones, Chief Executive of Bluelab (finalists in the 2025 NZ Hi-Tech Awards) and local legend in design and innovation.

Jono will be covering the Ten Types of Innovation framework, which a powerful tool for innovation strategy and tactics that encompasses the whole organisation, beyond product development, to cover business models, systems and process, customer experience and marketing. Jono will talk about how he uses the framework, and more generally how a holistic approach like this is essential for staying competitive, differentiated and achieving long-term success in today’s dynamic world.

Jono is the CEO of Bluelab, a global leader in controlled-environment agriculture technology. With extensive experience in product design and management across diverse markets, he previously led Bluelab's product development—overseeing both hardware and software innovations. Now, Jono drives the company’s strategic vision and direction as it continues to expand into new export markets, enabling more people to master the art of growing for a healthier world.

Anyone who came to DayBreak this year will have had a taster of how good this is! This is a great chance to go into much more depth and explore all the questions you have about innovation at an organisational level.

Plus, as ever, a chance to meet likeminded innovators and creators from around Tauranga and the Western Bay. Make sure to share around and we’ll see you there!

It’s free but we need you to RSVP so we provide enough refreshments!
