Four leading Australians in design - Clare Press, Sasha Titchovsky, Lucy Simpson and Bridget Kennedy - will talk about how their work is shaping our future.

About the speakers:
Clare Press is the founder of THE WARDROBE CRISIS. A Sydney-based sustainability communicator, filmmaker, author and presenter, she created the Wardrobe Crisis podcast in July 2017. Clare also produces and co-hosts the Ethical Fashion podcast with UN officer Simone Cipriani.An international speaker,Clare has moderated events and delivered talks in nine countries. She regularly appears on radio and TV news sharing sustainable fashion insights.

Sasha Titchkosky is the Co-founder and CEO of Koskela. She studied Economics and Law and worked as the National Communications Manager for the Australian Stock Exchange, before starting Koskela with her partner Russel in 2000. Together they have created a successful furniture and design business, winning prestigious design prizes and attracting clients such as Apple, Google, Australia’s leading law firms and banks. As a Certified B Corporation, an ethical agenda runs across all areas of the business. Sasha is especially passionate about Koskela’s social impact division, which supports and celebrates the work of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community art centres throughout Australia and about driving Koskela’s transition to a circular business.

Yuwaalaraay wirringgaa Lucy Simpsonis Creative Director and Principal Designer / Maker behind Gaawaa Miyay; a First Nations process-led studio based practice inspired by country, relationships and notions of continuity + exchange. Grounded in and guided by the timeless and sophisticated philosophies of First Nations design, Simpson’s Wangal / Sydney based multi-disciplinary practice connects to narratives of country through function, materiality and transfer; through a wide range of applications spanning commercial, conceptual, and community-based projects and collaborations across a wide range of media.

Bridget Kennedy is a contemporary jeweller and curator. She is also a founding member of The Repair Cafe Sydney North, and donates her time there repairing jewellery for local residents. Bridget is also the instigator of the Sydney Edible Garden Trail, a community not-for-profit event run across 14 council areas. Her most recent project is cofounder of The Sydney Library of Things, a library-like service for tools and other useful items.
