Event description

Not to be missed, this exclusive bus tour celebrates the extraordinary architectural vision of Enrico Taglietti, one of Australia's most distinctive and influential modernist architects. Complimenting the Taglietti: Life in Design exhibition, this carefully curated experience offers unprecedented access to some of Taglietti's most significant works—Giralang Primary School, the Australian War Memorial's large object storage and conservation facility Treloar A, and the Pakistan High Commission - buildings usually closed to the public. The tour will be facilitated by Tone Wheeler, architect, author, educator and President of the Australian Architecture Association.

What's included: Transport, access to each location, expert guided tours, Italian lunch and afternoon tea. (Drinks at lunch additional, at bar prices)

Tour Itinerary:

Morning

Begin at CMAG with a tour of the Taglietti: Life in Design exhibition by Senior Curator Virginia Rigney, then journey to Giralang Primary School to discover Taglietti's bold geometric forms and revolutionary modernist vision for places of learning and discovery. Followed by a tour of the Australian War Memorial Treloar A building.

Lunch

Enjoy authentic Italian cuisine at Agostinis restaurant at the East Hotel, Griffith.

Afternoon

Gain rare public access to the Pakistan High Commission building—an architectural gem rarely seen by visitors. The day concludes with afternoon tea at the Embassy before returning to CMAG.
