    Event description

Queers in Property is excited to welcome you all to the second panel discussion in our Queering Urbanism series in Naarm (Melbourne).

Building on our recent neighbourhood scale discussion — 'Evolution of the Gaybourhood' — we've now teamed up with Urbis to delve into the human scale — 'Housing for LGBTQIA+ Lives.'

Join us for another thought-provoking and meaningful discussion as we explore the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community in accessing safe, affordable, and inclusive homes.

This conversation will delve into the diverse housing needs of LGBTQIA+ individuals across their lifespans, examining how identity, social and economic factors, and access to healthcare shape our community's relationship to home, from youth to retirement.

With expert insights, we'll discuss the power of design in creating queer-friendly spaces and brainstorm housing solutions that embrace inclusivity, accessibility, and affordability for all.

Whether you're a housing advocate, policymaker, designer, developer, or someone passionate about building inclusive communities, this conversation will inspire new ideas and possibilities for housing that supports the well-being and dignity of all queer people.

And, as always, there will be networking, food, drinks, and a whole lot of fun QIP community vibes!
