Event description

Desk Yoga is a practice that is accessible anytime, with the assistance of your chair and the floor to find reprieve from life, release tension and provide an antidote to sitting. Your teacher will cue stillness in motion, some long holds, relaxation and soothing breathwork techniques to encourage relief and calm for the body and mind. 

For every and any body, this style of yoga will reduce your stress and improve your wellbeing.

When?

  • Wednesday 10 July at 12:30pm
  • Wednesday 17 July at 12:30pm
  • Wednesday 24 July at 12:30pm

Where?

Desk yoga classes will be held on the Pool Lawn outside the UNSW Fitness & Aquatic Centre if the weather is fine, or in one of the Centre's studios if not. Please come to the Fitness & Aquatic Centre reception and you will be directed to the location. 

Who?

These desk yoga classes are free for UNSW staff members. Please bring your staff card to show reception.

How to Make the Most of It

  • Bring some water
  • Wear comfy/stretchy clothes
  • Bring a warm jumper/cardigan
  • If you have your own yoga mat please bring it with you
  • Come with an open mind and ready to take a moment to breathe and release tension and feel invigorated.
