Detritus - Evening Performance

Shall we give ourselves back to nature? When it gets too hot, will we waste our breath on speaking?

Join us in our shed, a place where words cannot save us and the bugs are our gods. Where dirt clings to our sunburnt skin, and memories fade with the rising heat.

It's purgatory, but it's ours. 

By now we are aware that climate change is here, but we all deal with the climate crisis differently. Perhaps some are more efficient than others.

Detritus is a new ecocritical physical theatre that asks: how does humanity truly respond or fail to respond when faced with ecological destruction?

Detritus presents 8 episodes that examine our response to climate change. Like a choir of birds in a burning forest, each vignette calls out its own response to this question with its own urgent stylistic voice. Examining our attempts, successful or not, we aim to reconnect with the natural world we have made near uninhabitable.
