Developing International Sign – Part 2
If you’ve already completed our Introduction to International Sign or have some experience using International Sign (IS), this session will help you build on those foundations. This interactive online workshop is designed for interpreters and translators looking to grow their confidence and skills in a wider range of real-world situations.
We’ll focus on developing your practical use of International Sign in daily life, at work, and in community, health, education, and political contexts. You’ll gain tools and strategies to help you communicate clearly and comfortably, whatever the setting.
What We’ll Cover:
Deepen Your Knowledge: Strengthen your understanding of the features and cultural nuances of International Sign, and learn ways to navigate more complex situations.
Real-World Application: Practise using International Sign in a variety of everyday and professional scenarios, so you can engage more naturally with people from different backgrounds.
Enhanced Communication Skills: Develop strategies for meaningful conversations, ensuring your interactions are clear, appropriate, and effective.
Specialist Settings: Explore how International Sign can be used confidently in health, education, and political contexts, building your skills for these areas.
Production and Receptive Skills: Continue to improve both your expressive and receptive skills, making your communication in international environments smoother and more flexible.
