Developing self-regulation in people with autism
Professional Development In Focus Workshop
Developing self-regulation in people with autism is essential for success in the home, community, and educational settings. This session will outline what self-regulation is, why self-regulation is so important, and how we can realistically and practically enhance self-regulation to improve the quality of life for a person on the autism spectrum.
The focus of the workshop will be on the three core components of self-regulation:
- Executive Functioning (self-control);
- Sensory Regulation; and
- Emotional Regulation.
Suitable for professionals supporting individuals of all ages.
All participants will receive a certificate with the workshop title, the number of hours and will state that the training links to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (where appropriate).
Professional Workshops are designed for any individuals who support an individual on the autism spectrum on a professional or volunteer basis. The workshops provide examples and strategies that are relevant for professionals.
If this workshop is full, please contact Emma Bennett on ebennett@autismsa.org.au.
