Escape the Ordinary: Sourland Mountain Ridge Loop Hike on Saturday, April 12th!
Break away from the usual city scene and join us for an outdoor adventure on the Sourland Mountain Ridge Loop. Located just a short trip from NYC, this hidden gem offers a refreshing change of pace with rugged trails, tranquil streams, and scenic views that feel worlds away from the urban grind.
What to Expect:
🌿 A 5.8-mile moderate loop with a mix of forested paths, rocky terrain, and peaceful brookside trails. (Details here)
🌄 Scenic ridge views and the calming sounds of Roaring Brook.
🦌 Wildlife sightings—keep an eye out for deer, songbirds, and maybe even a fox!
✨ A chance to connect with a cool group of fellow adventurers in a relaxed, laid-back setting.
☕ A post-hike stop at a local spot to refuel and share stories from the trail.
What to Bring:
- Hiking boots/ Sturdy Sneae (required)—this trail can get rocky and muddy in spots!
- Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing (layers are your friend).
- A daypack with water, snacks, and a packed lunch.
- Camera or phone to capture the incredible views.
Event Schedule:
10:00 AM – Meet at The Standard Biergarten in NYC
10:30 AM – Depart for Sourland Mountain Preserve
12:00 AM – Arrive at the trailhead and begin the hike
2:00 PM – Snack break by Roaring Brook
3:00 PM – Conclude the hike and head to a cozy nearby café
5:00 PM – Depart for NYC
Timing is approximate and will depend on traffic and the group’s pace.
