Devonport - Mobile Antarctic Classroom - Antarctic Festival Tour
Event description
The Mobile Antarctic Classroom is touring Tasmania before the Australian Antarctic Festival (22-25 August), presented by the Mawson’s Huts Foundation
Whether you’re in kindergarten or retired, we’ve got something for you!
Play with magnets, pretend penguin eggs, and polarising filters; look at replica and genuine Antarctic artefacts; take a photo in our snow tent; chat to our staff about your Antarctic history and science questions.
We are grateful to the Bass Strait Maritime Centre for hosting us, and anyone visiting to see us will also receive free entry to the Centre (until their closing time of 3pm).
We will be at the Bass Strait Maritime Museum from 2-3pm, and there are two sessions to choose from: 2:00pm to 2:30pm and 2:30 to 3:00pm. We encourage you to book a ticket, to help us manage the number of people attending, but you can come and go within your thirty minute time-slot.

This tour is supported by Events Tasmania.
The Variety Mobile Antarctic Classroom visits schools throughout the year, click here for more information.
There is parking available near the building and an accessible parking space out the front of the Centre.
