Dhargyey Buddhist Centre Basement Fundraising Dinner
Event description
The Dhargyey Buddhist Centre needs your help.Â
The Tibetan Buddhist Community has been based in this gorgeous Historic Places Category 1 house since 1986, when Venerable Geshe Ngawang Dhargyey established the Centre at 22 Royal Terrace, Dunedin. Architecturally, historically and socially significant for its association with prominent businessmen Jacob Isaac and Richard Hudson the house was built in 1878 and is a fine example of Nathaniel Wales' design skills.
This year we need to raise funds to begin the work of restoring the basement. There is rising damp, mould from the hill run-off which is all affecting the foundations and the integrity of the building.
Please support our appeal to preserve this heritage house into the future..Each ticket sold will give our appeal $25.
Thank you for your support.Â
