Dia de Muertos at the Mexican Cultural Institute DC 2024

Come and be part of Mexico's most important tradition: the Day of the Dead.

This year, experience our traditional Altar of the Dead, featuring unique murals by Mexican artist Ana Aranda, honoring the Aztec underworld of children,
CHICHIHUACUAUHCO. Enjoy short films that honor the Day of the Dead, along with traditional music, folkloric dances, mariachi, pan de muerto, hot chocolate ABUELITA™, and much more!

In addition, Bolivia, Peru and Guatemala will join our celebration, sharing their traditions, ofrendas and cultural heritage on this special occasion with an exhibition titled “El muerto al pozo y el vivo al gozo.” The altar and the exhibit will remain on display until November 27, so you will be able to visit them during the Institute's normal hours.

Please note: This year, the tour of the altar and murals will last 45 minutes by group. Due to limited space, each person may reserve up to four tickets. Reservations exceeding four tickets will result in the cancellation of the entire order. Important: Children under 12 years old DO NOT REQUIRE a ticket reservation.

Este año, disfruta de nuestro tradicional Altar de Muertos, con murales únicos creados por la artista mexicana Ana Aranda, en honor al inframundo azteca de los niños, CHICHIHUACUAUHCO. Disfruta de cortometrajes que honran esta celebración, además de música tradicional, bailes folclóricos, mariachi, pan de muerto de Cocolita, chocolate caliente ABUELITA™, y mucho más.

Además, Bolivia, Perú y Guatemala se unirán a nuestra celebración, compartiendo sus tradiciones, ofrendas y herencia cultural en esta ocasión tan especial con una exposición titulada "El muerto al pozo y el vivo al gozo." El altar y la exposición permanecerán expuestos hasta el 27 de noviembre, por lo que podrá visitarse en el horario habitual del Instituto.

Importante: Este año, la visita al altar y los murales tendrá una duración de 45 minutos por grupo. Debido al espacio limitado, cada persona puede reservar hasta cuatro boletos. Las reservaciones que excedan este número resultarán en la cancelación de todo el pedido. Tenga en cuenta que_ los niños menores de 12 años NO NECESITAN RESERVACIÓN de boletos.
