Join Diabetes NZ Bay of Plenty/Lakes Youth for a Pool Party to kick off our 2025 events at Maurie Kjar Aquatic Center in Kawerau!
This activity day is for youth with diabetes from Tauranga, Eastern BOP, Rotorua, and Taupo areas and their whānau.

Come along for a fun day swimming and chatting with other families who have children with diabetes.
Remember to bring togs, towels, sunblock, hats, a picnic and water. We will put some sausages on the BBQ.

This is a great opportunity to get together as a community and meet other families. Please see the Kawerau District Council Pool rules below and note the supervision requirements before registering for this event:

Supervision Rules:

All children under 8 years old must be actively supervised at all times.
Children under 5 years old: Caregiver over 16 years must be in the pool within arm's reach of the child at all times. (if the caregiver is a non-swimmer, the child can only swim in the toddler pool).
Children 5-8 years. Caregivers over 16 years must have visual contact at all times and be able to provide immediate assistance.
