Diathermy Workshop
Description
Join Dermal Clinicians Kristina Mazzone and Valentina Novakovic for a practical, in-depth diathermy workshop combining clinical theory with real hands-on treatment experience.
We’ll start with the fundamentals:
Diathermy theory
Lesion assessment, differentials and red flags (benign vs. malignant look-alikes)
Technique selection: tapping, insertion and scoring
Probe type, size and intensity selection
Clinical endpoints and what to avoid
Hands-on practice on live models across two treatment beds
Aftercare, documentation and complication management
We'll start with a 45minute presentation, you’ll put theory into practice across two treatment beds working in small groups. We will have organised models presenting with a range of benign lesions. These include skin tags, sebaceous hyperplasia, milia, cherry and spider angiomas, and more.
You’ll watch live demonstrations, then get genuine hands-on practice under guidance, before we close with a discussion on aftercare, documentation, and managing complications.
Whether you’re new to diathermy or looking to refine your technique, this workshop is designed to build real clinical confidence.
