Dig and Divide Dahlia Masterclass with Eddie Howard and Brian Tunks

Share a morning learning how to dig and divide your dahlias with Eddie Howard and Brian Tunks from bisonhome. Eddie has extensive background in both growing and competing with dahlias since the 1950’s (with his dad who was also a grower!) Brian has a patch of over 700 plants in the rear paddock in Pialligo and between them they have an extensive range of forms and colours. Learn how soil health is key to your plants and how to modify it for better blooms. Enjoy a walk to our paddock to dig a couple of plants up and see how we divide and store them over winter.

Just to keep you comfortable we’ll share a delicious morning tea from the Pialligo Bakesmith and some Prosecco or soft options. You’ll also be able to take home 3 tubers each we have divided ready for storage. They may also include a ‘unicorn’ (hard to find tuber!) among them.

Please make sure to dress warmly and wear shoes appropriate for a paddock. Also be comfortable to walk 200m down and back with a gentle rise. Also… enjoy some sparkling company and share your stories with other dahlia addicts. We are a rare breed!!!!
